* Research and report on new legislative matters (City / Provincial) as related to human resources policies, benefits, practices and procedures. * Support the Director of Labour Relations & Occupational Health & Safety * Assist Director in employee relations matters * Assist in the initiation, development, implementation and evaluation of related human resource policies, programs and procedures. * Act as initial intake for employees on related human resource matters. * Maintain confidential employment records and contracts. * Perform administrative and other duties as assigned.

* Lead change and translate business strategies and objectives into appropriate HR initiatives and actions * Lead the process for staff recruitment to help build an engaged and high functioning team * Implement and manage a professional development program to support succession planning initiatives * Implement and manage an annual performance management program for the organization * Act as lead for all issues related to HR matters, programs, health care benefits and pension plan for employees * Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvement in effectiveness of department and services performed * Develop and implement programs which foster employee engagement and building the right culture * Provide advice and counsel to the Senior Management team on HR matters. Uses skills to bring HR insight to bear on all people related issues (people, capabilities, and organizational leadership) * Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of local, provincial and federal employment laws and regulations

* Maintain and manage the HRIS systems * Manage the Professional Development program which includes but not limited to; identifying training needs, sourcing and coordinating training, tracking training data, overseeing the budget and coordinating with external partners like the City of Toronto and Toronto Transit Commission * Participate in non-unionized and unionized recruitment activities, including the annual seasonal staffing process for Housekeeping and Parking Services * Develop tools, processes and policies that enhance a positive employee relations climate * Manage the on-boarding process from orientation to training * Benefit & Pension administration, including the processing of enrolments, changes, and terminations of participants in all benefit plans and programs. * Lead the Performance Management process including the tracking of annual reviews * Develop, implement, monitor and analyze employee relations metrics and trends * Lead in the investigation of harassment complaints and procedures as required * Participate in special projects as required
