Jasmine Hasmatali
Head of Marketing @ Breakthrough Social Enterprise
About
TLDR; working at the intersection of technology, ethical AI and human rights. Which means I spend a lot of time thinking about others and questioning tech's favourite line 'move fast break things'. As Head of Marketing at Breakthrough Social Enterprise, I lead the strategy behind how we grow, communicate, and build community around our mission. Which is, making sure no one is left behind in the age of AI. I have an academic background in Global Development and Human Rights Law which helps me apply an intersectional lens to digital transformation and inclusion, analysing how policy, strategy, and innovation can address structural inequalities. I tell myself that's useful in my marketing job. Always open to a chat! Feel free to reach out.

Dissertation Title: A Human Rights-Based Approach to Digital Strategies: Investigating Poverty Alleviation in Scotland My dissertation focused on how a human rights-based approach can inform inclusive digital strategies that contribute to alleviating poverty in Scotland. I argued that national digital strategies which implement a human rights-based approach are best poised to consider the unique benefits and potential risks of digital technologies and their impacts on human rights.
