Jarad Hobbs

Jarad Hobbs is the Founder and CEO of Joy in Movement (J.I.M), one of Australia's fastest-growing fitness franchise brands. With more than 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, Jarad has dedicated his career to helping people build healthier, more sustainable relationships with movement. After beginning his career as a personal trainer he quickly became fascinated by the transformational impact fitness could have on people's confidence, wellbeing, and quality of life. Over the next two decades, Jarad owned and operated multiple boutique fitness studios across Sydney, developing expertise in member experience, retention, studio operations, and business growth. Throughout that journey, he observed a recurring challenge: many people struggled to maintain consistency because they simply didn't enjoy the traditional gym environment. Driven by a desire to create a more accessible and enjoyable fitness experience, Jarad developed Joy in Movement (J.I.M) in 2023. Combining infrared heat, low-impact functional movement, immersive lighting, music, technology, and short-format workouts, J.I.M was designed to help people feel stronger, healthier, and more confident-without the intimidation often associated with traditional fitness. Following a successful pilot, Jarad chose to franchise the concept, recognising the opportunity to scale a new category of fitness focused on experience, wellbeing, and long-term habit formation. Since launching its first franchise studio in July 2023, J.I.M has expanded rapidly across Australia, selling more than 70 territories and commencing international expansion through a UK master franchise agreement. Today, Jarad continues to lead the vision and growth of J.I.M, focused on building technology-enabled wellness experiences that help people move better, feel better, and create lasting healthy habits.
