They specialise in automotive electronics and wiring harnesses with in house UI design, software, hardware and mechanical engineering, and production. • Collaborated with various department teams to develop two User Interfaces for vehicle interior command centres. The entire design process was utilised for this development including team brainstorming sessions, quick sketch studies (both manually and digitally), paper prototyping, digital renders and graphics preparation (using Photoshop and Illustrator), concept presentations and Flash animations • Researched, planned and designed the UI’s around established ergonomic and usability principles in relation to: reach zones, button sizes, response/lag time, visual hierarchy and user input feedback • Envisioned and specified behaviour for the UI including: button behaviour/states, screen transitions, animation sequences, pop-up strategy and timers • Promoted usability and design to educate the client and other internal departments of its value • Liaised with software engineers to ensure the specified behaviour and graphics were being implemented correctly on the User Interface • Worked with mechanical engineers to determine tolerance boundaries for hard button graphics • Produced a range of skins/themes for the displays while working within strict software implementation requirements • Worked with and presented to senior staff at both SWS Australia and Ford Motor Company Australia
