First engineer & co-founder. Spearheaded development on multiple projects during product-market fit phase. Original product was "Hallway Meetings" - a real-time meeting platform on the web. Our goal was to bring our product experience + machine learning capabilities to the virtual meeting space and solve common pain points for remote & hybrid teams that products like Zoom have not solved. During this time, we developed several novel ML features for the web, including background noise suppression for microphones, real-time hand gesture detection and "avatar" streaming. The avatar concept took off, which led to products like "Hallway Tile" which allowed users to customize avatars and appear in zoom calls as those characters using our native macOS and Windows apps. Also learned Unreal Engine and built a 3D streaming environment that integrated our face animation ML pipeline in Unreal Engine 5 allowing popular "avatar streamers" to easily broadcast to Twitch or YouTube as their virtual character.

I joined QW while I was in college in 2014 and began working full-time as a mobile developer while completing school. I quickly took on more responsibility and began leading projects, recruiting, management and sales cycle work. From 2016 - 2020 I helped grow the engineering team from 5 to 30 developers as co-head of engineering. I was in charge of recruiting and brought in and trained engineers during that time in many technical areas - native mobile dev, backend, web frontend, devops. I often spearheaded development with premier clients while continuing to train and manage teams focusing on other clients. After several years building the company I was promoted as a late co-founder.

Led development on the original TryNow product, a Shopify plugin for merchants to add "try before you buy" sales model to their checkout flow & inventory management. This reverses traditional online sales flow to send you items on a trial period before purchasing. Took over development after the initial pilot was built and scaled it to process orders for hundreds of merchants. This involved implementing an entire custom payment processor with Stripe, a trial and order management system, checkout UI and merchant dashboards, as well as custom TBYB landing pages for experimentation and A/B testing which raised revenue by +30% in many cases.

Implemented features for massive "checkout" overhaul on Eventbrite website and organizer embedded checkout widget, including localization, international payment methods for European countries, ticketing and invoicing, and organizer marketing tools. This involved fixing a lot of very old tech debt and deploying updates to software processing hundreds of millions of dollars without mistakes. Led team of 5 developers working on checkout & organizer tools. Also implemented surveys, event rating and some other experiments in Eventbrite's native iOS app.

Led iOS development on a high-visibility company goal from Reddit founders to add live streaming to the platform. Joined the team working on "RPAN" along with an engineer I was managing. Added live stream viewing & broadcasting capabilities to their iOS app, along with integration to a new backend API. RPAN launched successfully in August 2019 with a big reception from the Reddit community.

Handshake is a platform that connects students to employers through their universities. Led a team of 4 developers creating MVP for Android to pair with existing iOS app over a tight 6 month timeline in time for career fairs in the fall. After MVP launch, led feature iteration for half a year, then hired and trained a project manager to replace myself and moved to advisement role.

Led development on a team of 4 mobile engineers building the "hello" social network. Delivered MVP on Android to pair with successful iOS app - led to large international success in India, Brazil and US. Led iterative development on Android & iOS native apps for several years.

Citizen is a safety & awareness app for people living in major cities (NY, SF, Baltimore). Joined their mobile team briefly to take over Android work and catch it up to the product standard on iOS in time for successful new launch at TechCrunch Disrupt 2017.
