Jack Ryan
Incoming Tax Intern @ EY
About
I am a senior accounting student at North Carolina State University, graduating in May, with plans to join Ernst & Young’s Raleigh office as a Tax Intern this summer. I have been admitted to NC State’s Jenkins Master of Accounting (MAC) program, which I will begin in the fall. My academic experience has drawn me toward tax through a combination of technical problem-solving and an interest in how government policy shapes business decisions, an interest developed through coursework with professors who emphasized real-world application and public policy. Alongside my academic work, I have several years of experience in food service, where I developed strong communication skills, adaptability, and composure in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. These roles reinforced the importance of teamwork, accountability, and navigating challenging interpersonal situations with professionalism. Across academics, athletics, and work, I have consistently gravitated toward collaborative environments and informal leadership roles where supporting others comes naturally. Looking ahead, I am excited to continue developing my technical and professional skills in public accounting, with particular interest in tax roles that intersect with government, regulation, and public impact.
