Jack Hiltz

I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging in December 2015. I worked as a Packaging Engineer for Wayfair.com in the Cincinnati area from February 2016 to June 2020. In my time at Wayfair, I was responsible for creating best practices for packaging various furniture and home decor pieces, providing personalized recommendations to clients both through writing and in person visits, and successfully on-boarding over 1000 new suppliers with packaging that has passed approval with the expectation of actively reducing damage and defect for both the supplier and Wayfair. In 2019, I attained the CPP designation from the IoPP after completing a research paper comparing and contrasting the packaging required to protect products through distribution in the e-commerce and brick-and-mortar worlds. From 2020-2024 I worked for Abercrombie & Fitch, supporting the development and execution of all Personal Care items (perfume/cologne, body wash, lotion, fine mist, deo sprays, etc.) and gift sets for Abercrombie & Fitch, Abercrombie Kids, Hollister, and Gilly Hicks. This included using SolidWorks and ArtiosCAD to develop the packaging, as well as executing compatibility, stability, product resistance, and transit testing for all product forms. Previously, I have worked in jobs that have required constant interaction with consumers and coworkers for the past 8 years and see myself thriving in an environment where I am challenged. I am at my best when I can work with a team, but also do very well working independently. My outgoing nature makes it very easy for me to work well with cross functional teams.
