I assisted Professor Elliot Visconsi with research into the history of the East India Company in the 17th century and its role in the development of the early capitalist state. I also worked with the Office of Digital Learning as they develop online courses and other digital educational projects.

I assisted students with reading comprehension, writing, modeling, and critical analysis through individual and small-group tutoring, and I helped Professor Kim Christensen with clerical tasks and odd jobs as needed.

* I was responsible for general clerical work in the Office of Student Management, which included receiving students, faculty, and visitors at the front desk * answering the office phone and redirecting calls through the switchboard to the correct contact or taking messages and passing them along to said contact * escorting visitors and students through the school as necessary * delivering mail to faculty and staff * assisting students in filling out attendance records, absence waivers, and other documentation, and subsequently filing said documentation.

I was in charge of preparing a wide array of meat, produce, and other foods and ingredients to be used on the assembly line in the front of the house. I was also responsible for stocking of the cooler and freezer areas, cleaning of my work station, and daily inventory calculations. The latter task in particular required communication and cooperation between myself and the line staff in the front of the house.

I was responsible for routine maintenance on all school computers, transportation of technical equipment, and personal technical assistance to staff members. The school utilized Apple Mac computers and software from Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, and a variety of other third-party developers.

I teach beginner-level classes for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, and saxophone.

I was involved in a wide variety of tasks at the Office of the Mayor. I have done research for community engagement projects, prepared briefings and other documents for the Mayor, staffed the Mayor for special events, drafted official proclamations and press releases, and dealt with direct service of citizens through the 311 line and front desk, among other responsibilities.

As a first-year student, I am currently taking three classes (a full courseload at Sarah Lawrence): The Problem of Empire: A History of Latin America; Introduction to Economic Policy and Theory; and Advanced Spanish: Literary and Filmic Genres. In the course of my studies, I will develop an academic concentration in coordination with my don (a professor and academic advisor).
