The work involved was mostly translating the bulk analog parts with a dime-sized microcontroller, DSP and FPGA chips. With the new digital upgrade, PROTEM-MK2 and EM63-3D-MK2 can now be interfaced with most communication protocols and are seamlessly compatible with big brand Geophysical Interpretation software such as Geosoft, GeoProbe. Both of the instruments are now being controlled by software and account for roughly 70% of its operations. We had cut the cost down to almost 50% for the same specifications and reduced its physical size to about 40%. Performed in a leadership role as a lead engineer. Provided engineering design and implementation to support Geonic’s Electromagnetic Products line such as EM31, EM38, EM39, EM63-3D and PROTEM CM. Developed test plans and training courses to keep thirty of Geonic’s technicians up to speed, and trained them to troubleshoot any malfunctioning electronics and software bugs.
