Himang Das

I am Himang Das, a graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Saveetha Engineering College, with a strong academic and professional interest in renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and power quality enhancement. My academic journey has been driven by a clear motivation to understand and contribute to sustainable, efficient, and reliable power systems. One of my key academic projects involved the design and simulation of a hybrid power generation system using MATLAB, integrating solar and wind energy to improve the performance of a domestic grid system. This project strengthened my fundamentals in renewable energy integration, power system modeling, and system-level analysis. I further enhanced my practical exposure through an internship at TVS Training and Services Ltd., Ambattur, Chennai, where I gained hands-on experience in electric vehicle technology. This experience broadened my understanding of sustainable transportation systems and reinforced my interest in innovative energy solutions. My final year project, titled “Power Quality Enhancement of a 2.5 MW Solar Integrated Domestic Grid System using Machine Learning,” focuses on improving the reliability, voltage stability, and power quality of solar-integrated grids using intelligent algorithms. This work was presented at UNI-TEAS 2024, where it received positive recognition. Currently, I am working as an Apprentice Trainee at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), where I am gaining practical exposure to high-voltage transmission systems, grid operations, and real-world power system practices, allowing me to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry applications. In addition to academics, I have actively participated in technical symposiums, workshops, and paper presentations, including a presentation on underwater communication at Eswari Engineering College. These activities helped me develop strong technical communication, teamwork, and presentation skills. My involvement in sports and cultural activities has also contributed to my leadership and personal development. On a personal level, I enjoy traveling, photography, and creating meaningful memories with friends and family. I come from a nuclear family in Odisha and currently reside in Panipat, Haryana. With a strong foundation in electrical engineering and a continuous drive to learn, I aspire to contribute effectively to the development of innovative, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions.
