About
Dr. Hatem Alameri is the Advisor of the Healthcare Licensing and Medical Education Sector at the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at Khalifa University, College of Medicine. Through his work at the Department of Health, he played an integral role in setting strategy for ME in Abu Dhabi that aimed to transform academic medicine in the Emirate. He led 2011, 2014, and the 2018 Abu Dhabi Medical Education Strategic plans that resulted in the establishment of • TANSEEQ program, the first centralized Emirate-wide residency match program and the first international partnership with the NRMP-I• The ACGME-I/DOH partnership agreement and subsequently the accreditation of all residency and fellowship programs (first in the region)• The development of multiple regulatory standards and the financial scheme for graduate medical education (GME). Dr. Alameri is also a member of several local and regional academic committees including the National institute of Health, Professional qualification requirement committee, and he represents the DOH in several national and international ME committees and task groups. His interests is ME metrics, ME outcomes, ME finance and the interlink between the ME and health system performanceDr Al Ameri completed his Pulmonary Medicine fellowship training and Internal Medicine residency training from McGill University in 2002 and 2000 respectively. He has received several academic awards and has authored multiple publications in the field of pulmonary medicine and academic medicine. Dr. Al Ameri is a former chief editor of the Emirates Medical Journal, the official journal of the Emirates Medical Association and he is a reviewer for several international medical journals
