* Develop and manage the MSVO processes and procedures to meet the BPSS in line with CPNI guidance. * Ensure it provides a comprehensive pre-employment vetting service to Members and Peers. * Develop reporting procedures that will contribute to bi-cameral business processes and provide management information to meet target processing times. * Manage staff to ensure they give of their best and reach their full potential including managing performance and office staffing and ensuring appropriate training is implemented to meet business needs and ensure a high level of customer service. * Undertake quality assurance visits to contractors who employ staff on the Parliamentry Estate and ensure any follow up actions are take forward including the development of new policy. * Develop and maintain an accurate database. * Full compliance with the Data Protection Act. * Handle customers to ensure their expectations are being met and responding to customer feedback, both positive and negative, to ensure the delivery of a high quality service.

* Effective monitoring of the quality, errors and complaints across the Directorate. * Manage and develop staff. * Provide reports and feedback on quality across the Operations Directorate's teams. * Liaise with team managers to ensure errors and complaints are dealt with promptly and services improved. * Provide technical expertise to assist operations' teams. * Review and maintain desk instructions and standard letters. * Devise and monitor training and development opportunities for all teams. * Manage the central security budget. * Provide guidance on the publication of allowances.
