Evan Proctor

I worked with a team of engineers in designing and manufacturing energy distribution technologies across the state of North Carolina transferring energy from the grid to homes and businesses. I designed over 40 unique projects using a variety of both engineering and project management software. I created and provided detailed construction prints and materials lists to construction crews.

I gave lectures to around 100 students studying mechanical engineering on Arduino, SolidWorks, and circuitry so that they could understand basic tools used in mechanical engineering industries. I also walked students through projects such as creating a mouse-trap car, building a Rube Goldberg machine, and prototyping a McDonald's toy. Additionally, I graded student's reports on their projects consisting of technical writing, professional diagrams, and finite element analysis.

I instructed and facilitated twelve first year students through an iterative design process of engineering three specialized projects for clients including the Duke Hospital and local manufacturing companies in the Durham community. I also taught circuitry, CAD, and woodworking so students could prototype solutions for clients.

I worked to take care of horses by cleaning, feeding, and saddling them at Crooked Creek Young Life camp so that campers could have an enjoyable and fun experience riding horses. *threw hay and watered troughs every day *brushed and saddled each horse before riding *cleaned and oiled saddles

I instructed and facilitated middle school students through an iterative process of engineering water filters and microscopes. *taught students about the water cycle and important properties of water *created microscopes and water filters to examine properties of water such as turbidity and PH *guided students in creating presentations discussing the findings of their projects

I worked on the ropes course where I worked with a team of four others to take 75 campers on the course each day. I was responsible for each camper's safety and wellbeing as they navigated the course which meant ensuring they were equipped with the proper equipment while also teaching each camper how to navigate the course and use the equipment.
