• Negotiations, cost reductions, vendor selection to expand approved vendor list (AVL), focus on long lead items (LLI) and customized/unique items, material availability, initiate and promote second source efforts for key items. • Indirect purchasing - service agreements and contracts, general & administrative, information technology, facilities, etc. • Direct purchasing - electronic & optical components, mechanics, PCB & PCBA and testing equipment, according to MRP system recommendations. • Worked closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and schedule. • Purchasing activities and participation during all stages of the product lifecycle - from NPI and development to mass production. • Familiar with the local and global markets. • Extensive experience in international trade, including working with forwarders and customs brokers. • Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing reports and price lists.
