UAV Engineer

As a member of Lambach Aircraft, an association within TU Delft’s aerospace faculty, I have actively contributed to designing and building innovative RC aircraft. In my first year, I participated in a competition to develop an endurance-focused propeller plane, where my team of four utilized a tandem wing configuration to maximize efficiency. This experience strengthened my understanding of aerodynamics, structural design, and teamwork. Building on this foundation, I initiated a personal eVTOL project from scratch in my second year, taking on the full scope of systems engineering. This aircraft features a tandem wing configuration with rotating wingtip propellers, enabling both quadcopter-like hovering and efficient forward flight. Beyond structural and aerodynamic design, I am developing a custom flight controller and integrating electronic systems to ensure stable and efficient operation. Through this project, I have significantly advanced my CATIA skills by designing a parametric, modular, and lightweight fuselage and wings, structurally optimized using my knowledge of structural mechanics gained at TU Delft. Additionally, I utilized XFLR5 for aerodynamic analysis, optimizing airfoils and refining the overall design for improved performance. I am passionate about pushing the boundaries of efficient and innovative aircraft design, and I am eager to continue expanding my expertise in aerospace engineering, avionics, and control systems.

Production Engineer

As a Production Engineer for Team XVIII, I stepped into this role with zero prior hands-on experience in manufacturing, determined to bridge the gap between design and production. Thanks to my dedication and the guidance of my mentor, Berend Michielsen, I quickly mastered essential machining techniques, including lathing, milling, and CNC milling. I also became proficient in Autodesk Fusion CAM, programming complex toolpaths for efficient manufacturing. Beyond technical skills, I developed a strong understanding of how tolerances, part size, and complexity impact both production cost and time. This knowledge allows me to design with manufacturability in mind, optimizing components for efficiency without compromising performance. This experience has not only sharpened my engineering intuition but has also fueled my passion for creating innovative and production-ready designs.
