Emily Landa

At Paw Works, I acquired skills in both retail and animal rescue management. Daily responsibilities included prepping the store, customer service, adoption coordination and behavioral training. Along with being a sales associate, I had the opportunity to produce a short ad for the Ventura Paw Works store location.

As a member of this organization, a select group of Student Media members collect footage for any organizations on campus that seek our advertising services. We mainly film events relevant to promoting the organization and create trailers to broadcast throughout campus.

As a cashier, I did standard work involving greeting customers, stocking shelves, helping customers with their purchases, and counting out registers. I had a very rewarding experience working here for the summer and I enjoyed interaction with not only my coworkers, but the customers as well.

I help set up film shoots for Rainbow Theater at UC Santa Cruz. We work with a tricaster, cameras, and other equipment.

I volunteered at the Camarillo Health Care District during the summer of my senior year of high school. I mainly filled and emptied portable tubs for customers to place their feet into at the nail care center within the district. I greeted the customers, who were generally senior citizens, and had an amazing experience just interacting with wise and seasoned older people. They gave me valuable knowledge about life as I assisted with the hygienic process of manicuring.

In terms of film production, I acted as teleprompter operator and production assistant for a majority of shoots, including Pixar, Muscle Milk, FedEx and Shark Tank. When not in the field, I was in the office organizing shoot calendars, contacting contractors, archiving client footage and developing the Sullivan Productions website.
