Emily Moore

I am the Director of Troost ILead at the University of Toronto, leading teaching, research and programming that helps engineering students and professionals to develop their leadership skills and character. The motto of ILead is: “Engineers leading change to build a better world.” I previously spent 10 years at Hatch, an engineering consulting company in the metals, energy and infrastructure sectors. I worked across the entire business to develop new engineered solutions that could be sold as technology packages. I also spent 5 of those years working to globalize the Hatch water offering, consolidating the public and industrial water offerings. Before joining Hatch, I worked at the Xerox Research Centre of Canada for 11 years, primarily in the scale-up of Xerox's novel Emulsion Aggregation toner technology. I have experience with technology transfer from the lab to manufacturing to product integration. I am a big picture thinker who combines strategic thinking with deep technical knowledge. I am recognised as someone who can synthesize information quickly to determine the next steps/decisions that need to be made and then assemble the team to deliver the plan.
