I was the West Midlands Project Officer for a campaign called ‘The Professionals’ which aimed to get people to share their skills to benefit the local community. I oversaw and matched all volunteers from Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. I also worked with partner charities to promote volunteering opportunities. Alongside this I worked on community outreach projects and found volunteers for BBC Learning events such as BBC Stargazing Live. I also worked with BBC WM on larger campaigns such as the Olympic Torch coverage, BBC WM’s Red Alert Appeal and Children in Need, as well as helping out with research and providing contacts when needed.
