Experience

front desk receptionist
kidzu children's museum
In my work study position, it was my job to keep things running smoothly at the front desk and keep up positive costumer service. My job included setting up memberships and aiding the planning and organizing of birthday parties at the museum. I checked people into the museum, answered phone calls, set up crafts and activities, and kept the exhibits organized.

When fundraising officers were scheduled to meet with a new or potential donor, I wrote briefings on their background. Board meetings were held twice a year, and I assisted in completing the 50+ board packets. Various clerical work was included in my daily tasks (mail drop-off, scanning, etc.).

education and outreach coordinator
kidzu children's museum
I coordinated and facilitated all field trips to Kidzu. We frequently worked with the Chapel Hill/Carrboro school system. In order to further develop the education department at Kidzu, I did research for curriculum development and surveyed other children's museums on their field trip policies. In preparing for summer camp, I communicate regularly with caregivers and assist in organizing staffing and supplies.

I majored in Psychology, and double minored in Women's & Gender Studies and Sexuality Studies. I worked a majority of my undergraduate career. My extracurricular activities included Phi Sigma Pi, a gender-inclusive National Honor Fraternity, and UNC's Southeast Regional Unity Conference, a conference for LGBT*QIA college students and young adults. I also joined a research project my last semester through the Center of Developmental Sciences, in the Classroom Memory Study lab.
