For more than three decades, I have been passionate about investing in and building companies. The culmination of that experience was the launch of Cresset in 2017. Along with my Co-Founder and Co-Chairman, Avy Stein, we set out to build a truly disruptive next-generation multi-family office. Our vision was simple yet powerful: to reinvent wealth management and the client experience. That’s exactly what we are doing. We began by conducting a year-long research project to better understand why families like ours couldn’t find the comprehensive wealth management services we needed. We discovered that the holistic, personalized approach we desired didn’t exist. We knew we were not alone, and that there were other families like ours that deserved better. So, we decided to “build the house we want to live in.” We built Cresset on the vision of being a 100-year company, designed to endure and evolve for generations to come. I've long been fascinated by that question. Why do some companies endure for generations while others don't go the distance? Over the past year, I've had the privilege of sitting down with CEOs and leaders of remarkable organizations to explore how vision, adaptability, and resilience have carried them through more than a century of change. What I discovered has developed into a book that has been exhilarating to write. "The Long Game: A Playbook of the World’s Most Enduring Companies," is a collection of their stories, lessons, and the private strategies that helped them navigate challenges and create lasting impact.
