Built identity-centric privileged access (PAM) and Identity Firewall across multi-cloud and on-prem. Shipped policy-driven (Cedar/AWS) access workflows with IDM (Okta/Azure AD), replacing per-system creds; improved time-to-access and secure access. Expanded audit coverage (session logging, approvals) to meet SOC2 needs; reduced access-related incidents and streamlined upstream and downstream workflow for access to customers' crown jewels (apps, servers, SaaS). Led two managers/20 engineers; instituted observability; enhanced analytics and reporting to reduce standing access and zero trust access.

‬Conversational‬‭ AI platform to manage access to your personal data.‬ ‭ Built an AI-native architecture, using Ollama LLMs in security workflows, to allow permissions with conversational AI interface. Optimized model training using GPU acceleration on LambdaLab's cloud and‬ prototyped a solution to pitch for funding.‬

Global cloud-native secure access platform converging SD-WAN, SASE, zero trust, and app access for all users/devices/locations. Advanced a cloud-native secure access platform (service) unifying SASE headends; streamlined migrations for enterprise customers of Meraki and Viptella. Implemented zero-trust for apps/users/devices, improving deployment experience, latency, feature rollout time, and observability. Improved service provisioning from 7 days to 1 day, enhanced capacity planning, and delegated DevOps processes to a new SRE customer experience team, reducing issue resolution‬ time from 15 to 5 days, reducing outages by 50%, and resolving technical debt in legacy products. Partnered with sales/CS to accelerate adoption and reduce new customer onboarding and expansion.

Behavior analytics and data engineering platform for insider risk, running on distributed infrastructure. Led Analytics Server Platform, Data Eng, and UI for insider risk; expanded MITRE ATT&CK coverage. Delivered DLP telemetry at scale; improved time-to-signal for threat hunts. Use AI for anomaly detection.

Led ZPA engineering during a hyper-growth period; the platform handled ~10× traffic increase amid the remote-work surge (pandemic). Grew the team from 9 to 20 to 40 to 100 in 4 years and developed leadership pipeline. Grew ZPA to reach ~30% of revenue; strengthened Fed vertical capabilities. Drove core features, replacing legacy VPNs and accelerating cloud app access. Responsible for ZPA (Zscaler Private Access) engineering, ZPA complements the leading Zscaler Security Cloud (ZIA). It works by decoupling applications from the network and replacing traditional VPNs and accelerates cloud adoption. Zscaler's ZTNA platform transformed enterprise security with the world’s largest Security Cloud built from the ground up to enable users doing business beyond the corporate network safely. Zscaler’s Security Cloud processes over 35 billion transactions a day with near-zero latency to instantly secure over 15 million users in 190 countries, with no hardware or software required. More than 5,000 global enterprises are using Zscaler today to simplify their IT operations, consolidate point security products, and securely enable their business for mobility and cloud.

Built SteelConnect (SD-WAN) and a Data Center gateway with NSH service chaining; delivered high-availability routing and cloud management. Scaled the network integration team (Steelhead) and Cluster solution (Interceptor), groomed first-time managers, accelerated releases from 1.5 years to 6 months, and built product ownership within the team, who were driven with an infrastructure mindset. Managed five managers with a team size of 40+ engineers. Manage the customer expectations (Fed and commercial), and help transform the team to agile/lean software development.

Symantec/VERITAS: led a global 100+ engineering organization for storage/server/availability management (CommandCentral) and virtualization; earned a patent for SAN Access Layer API/SDK. Fusion-io: shipped beta→FCS for flash-accelerated workloads in virtualized environments. Starlight Networks: Created a streaming media platform (eVideo) for collaboration on Windows using MFC C/C++, targeted for small/medium-sized companies (< 500 employees). Sonata/ODSi: Designed and developed a network management and simulation product using Actor, an object-oriented (Smalltalk-like) environment, and various client/server solutions using C++ and MSSQL database.
