Celina Nadelman
Clinic & Laboratory Director @ Dr. Celina M. Nadelman, MD | Fine Needle Aspiration and Biopsy Clinic
About
Dr. Celina Nadelman, a board-certified cytopathologist and interventional pathologist, is a renowned specialist in Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA), a crucial technique for diagnosing superficial masses that cannot be easily diagnosed through physical exams or imaging studies alone. Dr. Nadelman offers a compassionate yet professional approach to outpatient FNA biopsies, providing patients with a quick, relatively painless, cost-effective solution. What sets Dr. Nadelman apart is her ability to deliver preliminary diagnoses within 24 hours, alleviating patient anxiety. Her commitment to superior techniques includes state-of-the-art, high-resolution ultrasound, ultrasound-guided FNAs, microscopic rapid onsite evaluation (ROSE), and a panoply of ancillary tests. With ROSE, Dr. Nadelman optimizes tissue collection, minimizing inadequate samples. She offers various ancillary studies on biopsy material, including molecular analysis, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and microbiological culture. Unlike her clinical colleagues, Dr. Nadelman's expertise lies in the laboratory, allowing her to provide additional diagnostic tools during the biopsy, eliminating the need for a repeat visit. This streamlined approach enhances the patient experience, reduces patient and physician frustration, and improves diagnostic accuracy, establishing her as a valuable resource for patients and referring physicians. Her strong relationships with referring doctors facilitate open and immediate communication, ensuring patients receive fast and excellent care. Dr. Nadelman’s experience as a resident in internal medicine gives her a unique perspective on patient care, allowing her to provide a comfortable and compassionate environment. Her journey from medical school to residency at a county hospital solidified her passion for FNA, allowing her to engage directly with patients and solve medical mysteries from start to finish. With a background in psychology and studio art, Dr. Nadelman's visual thinking skills have proven invaluable in her career as a cytopathologist. Dr. Nadelman, alongside her role as an interventional pathologist/FNA expert, also serves as Co-Director of the Pathology course at Charles R. Drew University (CDU) College of Medicine. Having taught at UCLA's Greater Los Angeles Consortium of Cytotechnology since her graduation from UCLA, she continues to educate residents and medical students from CDU at Los Angeles County’s MLK Jr Outpatient Clinic, furthering patient well-being and shaping future doctors.

Outpatient fine needle aspiration/biopsy and laboratory services Precision Aspiration & Biopsy, a CLIA and California licensed laboratory, offers fine needle aspiration of superficial masses found in the breast, thyroid, head and neck, salivary glands, lymph nodes, extremities and soft tissue. Pathological services offered at Precision Aspiration and Biopsy are truly unique because I, Celina Nadelman, MD., not only read the FNA materials, I perform the procedure as well. By doing on site cytological evaluations of aspirated materials, I can insure diagnostic results in most cases, as well as determine if fresh material will need to be collected for additional studies.
