Crossed various C. elegans strains to produce a lineage with multiple GFP-tagged proteins to track the migration of PAR-6, y-tubulin, and Histone H2B throughout the first division of the C. elegans zygote.

Fisk Lab, Department of Molecular Genetics

I worked under Dr. Harold Fisk the study the tole of STS1 and ZAP70 in the degradation of the Mps1 kinase, which plays a role in centrosome duplication. I cultured mammalian cells (HEK293, HeLa, and Rpe1 cells) and performed fluorescence microscopy to monitor centrosome duplication in cell lines hosting either wild-type or mutant Mps1 kinase. Performed immunoprecipitations from cell lysate to determine interaction between GFP-tagged STS1 and Mps1.
