Ditte Juul Jørgensen

I work as Director-General for Energy at the European Commission, where I work with a team of about 700 excellent and dedicated colleagues. Together, we aim to ensure access to affordable, secure and sustainable energy for everyone in Europe as part of the energy transition towards competitiveness, security and climate neutrality. I have worked in the European Commission for more than 30 years, leading policy development, international negotiations, and enforcement. Before joining DG Energy, I have worked as Head of Cabinet for the European Commissioner for Competition, as a senior manager in trade policy, as Economic Counsellor to the EU Delegation to the United Nations, at the European Court of Justice, and more. I regularly give lectures at universities to share a practitioner’s insights into energy and trade policy. In 2024, I co-chaired the UN Secretary-General’s Panel on Clean Energy Transition Minerals.
