Developed course materials and teaching strategies for Public Speaking, Spoken Communication and Presentation Applications/Speaking classes. Engaged various teaching methodologies to augment student knowledge using real-life experience and scenarios.

Managed the daily operation of a full-service public relations firm specializing in advertising, marketing, promotions, special events, video and audio production and organizational training and development.

Anchored the daily 5:00 p.m. newscast and produced award-winning news specials. Covered, reported and edited general assignment, health and education news stories in live and packaged forms. During my tenure, the 5:00 p.m. newscast rose from #3 to #1 in the metropolitan area within one year.

Executed the national launch of Mississippi’s $62 million dollar youth anti-tobacco campaign along with a multi-agency team. Coordinated the first national media blitz for Mississippi’s youth anti-tobacco campaign brand, “Question It”. Organized statewide distribution of “Question It” collateral items, directed pre-launch media trainings, facilitated media inquiries and coordinated the launch day press conference of former Mississippi Attorney General Mike Moore. Supervised launch day program planning and implementation, and oversaw the production for the launch day video news release. The event was covered by all media outlets statewide and several regional and national media outlets. Managed Porter Novelli’s Mississippi satellite office, reconciled vendor invoices and balanced multi-million dollar budgets.

Covered, reported, and edited daily news stories in live and packaged forms. Oversaw the total production of “First News” and “AM NewsWatch” newscasts which included story selection, editing, writing, and show production coordination. Created and developed the “Nancy’s Corner” segment as a part of WLOX’s weekly programming.

Created innovative promotional strategies and special events aimed to increase listeners, revenue and community relations for WMMJ-FM and WOL-AM radio stations. Developed “client-driven” marketing strategies for radio station sales team. Supervised the stations’ daily promotional operations including: coordinating on-air talent for remote broadcasts and special appearances; directing station staff on the proper execution of events and promotions; authorizing insertion orders for radio advertisements, and writing script copy for on-air talent. Recruited and directed special event volunteer staff into a cohesive unit. Served as voice talent and copy writer for radio station commercials and public service announcements.
