Responsible for the operation of various scientific laboratory equipment. Analyzed materials using X-Ray Photo-Electron Spectroscopy (XPS), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX) Analysis. Created XPS output graphical plots, electron micrographs, and EDX graphical plots which were used in the interpretation of chemical and physical characteristics of materials and components being examined, and then the incorporated results into reports for our customers.

Plant Metallurgist responsible for oversight of all metal applications of ferrous and non-ferrous metals- machining, forming, heat treatment, plating, die casting, soldering, welding, brazing, extrusion, tooling, in a manufacturing facility employing more than 1000, and having gross sales in excess of $200M/Year. Resolved production quality and manufacturing issues, trained production personnel on quality standards, and implemented corrective actions to reduce costs and improve quality, saving in excess of $1.5M/Year. Interfaced with Engineering, customers, and vendors to resolve technical and quality issues, and with the Quality, the Manufacturing, and the Purchasing departments regarding materials vendor selection and materials issues. Performed internal specification reviews and revised to comply with applicable standards. Specified materials on engineering drawings to ensure compliance with customer and internal engineering requirements.

These were used in the interpretation of chemical and physical characteristics of materials and components being examined, and then incorporated the results into written reports for internal departments and government programs.
