PhD candidate working as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Materials and Pavement Engineering group of the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida. My area of expertise focuses on highway engineering with a special emphasis on pavements. For almost 4 years I worked as a consulting engineer in several national and international highway projects, which gave me a unique opportunity to have firsthand contact to problems frequently encountered in the ‘real’ engineering world. Today, our group applies research to find solutions to those problems and improve the overall welfare of highway users. This work has already been published in excellent journals. The PhD degree will provide me with an enthusiastic opportunity to contribute and commit to bridge the gap between the engineering profession and engineering education with passion and dedication.
