Dave is the Director of Production for Atlus games at Sega of America. His teams produce the North American, European and MENA versions of Atlus games, shepherding them from conceptualization, budgeting and research through localization production and release to market with first parties. Prior to Sega he was a Senior Localization Manager at Blizzard Entertainment. His teams localized a variety of pipelines and content, including cinematics, marketing materials, Battle.net, Blizzard's classic games and the hugely popular Overwatch. In the past he led anime localization at VIZ Media. His team was responsible for the localization of some of the leading series in anime, such as Naruto, Sailor Moon, Bleach, One-Punch Man and many more. He also sat on VIZ's anime production committees as a company representative overseeing creative, international production and culturalization aspects of upcoming projects. Prior to VIZ Media, Dave was a member of the "Treehouse," Nintendo's vaunted US localization team, where he localized games in series as varied as Super Smash Brothers, Animal Crossing, Professor Layton, Kirby and The Legend of Zelda. He began his localization career at Tokyo Disney Resort working to localize Disney attractions for Japan and bridging the local adaptation team with Disney Imagineers in Burbank, CA. Major Accomplishments: -Localization producer for One-Punch Man, which became a critical and popular sensation in Winter 2015 as a subtitled release. My dub of the series took the #1 spot several times for original cable broadcasts on Sat. nights during its 12-episode run. - Revamping the VIZ localization workflow to increase efficiency and quality by using new methods and tools, shaving significant amounts of time before final delivery and allowing for greater creative control on the part of my producers. - Exploration of new tools, such as neural-network assisted translation platforms, and new vendors to reduce costs and time.
