Experience

electrical engineering intern
bes-tech, inc.
As an electrical engineer I read schematics and built HVAC components from them. I also diagnosed and debugged systems. My main project was programming their savings calculator in Microsoft Excel. I took raw data and made it interesting and useful for customers.

automation engineering intern
vishay intertechnology, inc.
As an automation engineer I wrote software to interface with manufacturing machines. My main project was to program an oven monitoring control system in Visual Basic. It had to control the system to ramp temperature up, stay there for a certain amount of time, and ramp down all while taking data and storing it to the server. I was able to see the project through from start to finish. As an intern I also set up experiments and solved general problems.

graduate research assistant
university of nebraska–lincoln
I worked as a graduate research assistant in an optics and thin film laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln while getting my master's degree. My job included making samples via sputtering and atomic layer deposition. Then I analyzed the samples with electron microscopy or spectrometry. I built a photoluminescence system for my thesis and my research used that system to measure optical properties of the material samples my group created. I also managed undergraduate students that worked under me in our lab.
