Two years work in the sediment branch of the Aquatics Division of the State Dept of Natural Resources. Focused on Puget Sound sediment contamination issues (research, cleanup) and remediation on state owned aquatic lands.

EPA research contractor at western division federal lab in Corvallis Oregon. Trained and supervised stream and river sampling crews for a surface water study (EPA's EMAP protocol) across 12 western states.

Manage a team and fishery outreach activities and programs for the MSC in the US. Work closely with MSC domestic and global staff and partners to maintain and grow the MSC program. Other duties and roles as outlined below.

Two separate projects for the Puget Sound Action Team, now a defunct agency absorbed into the Puget Sound Partnership group. Project 1: Coordinator for peer review project- Marine Outfall Siting Study, a Puget Sound outfall component of the Brightwater wastewater treatment facility. Roles and responsibilities included identifying, contracting and managing scientific expert review of outfall siting study documents. Produced documents and reported recommendations to agencies. Project 2: Puget Sound salmon recovery specialist, working with state, federal and municipal representatives to help develop an action plan for salmon recovery across the Puget Sound ESUs. Simply, to create a bottom-up approach versus the normal NOAA top-down approach.

Part of a global team working with diverse partners to promote and reward sustainable fishing practices in marine and freshwater regions. The Americas office is located in Seattle, with fishery and commercial staff working across the Americas region and the Russian Far East. My regional focus is fishery outreach in western North America, from Alaska to Mexico. Specific roles and responsibilities include promotion of MSC's sustainability and traceability certification program, outreach and education to the fishery sector, support fisheries progressing through the assessment and certification process, and engagement with fishery related stakeholders such as the conservation community, government and managers.
