As the head of the company (Grindr, NYSE: GRND), I spearheaded operations and strategy, leading a team of 180+ employees and driving annual revenues exceeding $100M. Reported directly to the Board of Directors. Led the company to achieve remarkable growth in key metrics, including a 50%+ increase in Daily Active Users (DAU), 100%+ increase in Subscription Revenue, and 200%+ increase in EBITDA within 2 years. Led the sale process, resulting in a $620M acquisition, representing a 153% increase from the previous valuation of $245M.

Led technical diligence and product transition during Grindr acquisition

I led the Core Machine Learning Algorithms team, where we developed innovative machine learning models that have been integrated into various Facebook products, including Ads and News Feed. Our models have played a critical role in driving company top-line metrics like Daily Active Users, Time-Spent, and Ad Revenue, making our team a key contributor to Facebook's success.

I led the Community Engineering team at Instagram, where our top priority was upholding Instagram's core value of "Community First." Our responsibilities included safeguarding, assisting, and growing the community through tasks such as managing user registration, implementing anti-spam measures, detecting fake accounts, moderating content, managing notifications, and overseeing reporting processes. Our team played a pivotal role in Instagram's growth, delivering essential features that contributed to the platform's achievement of 400 million monthly active users.

I wrote HDFS RAID, an implementation of Erasure Codes in HDFS to reduce the replication factor of data in HDFS.

Led Facebook's Search Entity Ranking team, responsible for search backend development and ranking algorithms (users, pages, groups, places). Key contributor to the launch of Facebook Graph Search, enhancing user experience and platform discoverability. As a Software Engineer, I have contributed in several significant ways at Facebook: 1) Developing and implementing a comprehensive A/B test framework for Facebook Search, facilitating systematic A/B testing by the search team. 2) Creating Hadoop Corona, the scheduling infrastructure used in Hadoop at Facebook. 3) Implementing Reed-Solomon Codes within the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) for my Hackathon project, which later has helped Facebook conserve hundreds of petabytes of storage.
