About

I am a first year PhD student at the Cosmic Dawn Center in Copenhagen, interested in the formation and evolution of early galaxies. My current research involves analysing spectroscopic data of high-redshift galaxies observed with JWST, specifically those with damped Lyman-alpha absorption. Previously I studied at the University of Edinburgh, obtaining a first-class MPhys (Integrated Masters) degree in 2024. In my Masters project I developed strong-line metallicity calibrations valid for galaxies in the high-redshift universe.

6 week summer research project, Spatially Resolving Properties of a Nearby Dwarf Galaxy. Writing Python script to fit emission lines for each spatial pixel of the galaxy. Evaluating new and robust estimates for metallicity in various star formation regions and their surrounding diffuse gas. Calculating properties such as velocity dispersion to give insight into rotation of the galaxy and origin of ionised gas.

Working with the first data released from JWST with Dr Adam Carnall. Creating RGB colour images of high redshift CEERS galaxies, and calculating properties such as galaxy size using Sersic fitting. Published two papers as co-author, and credited for creating the press image of high-redshift galaxy candidate CEERS-93316.
