The Knowledge Based Systems Group at the Computer Science institute bought 5 new robots and additional sensor hardware for research and teaching purposes. We were tasked with the Hardware and Software Setup. Hardware Setup - robots came pre-assembeld (frame + wheels) but were completely empty inside - figuring out where do put all the components (Laserscanner, voltage converter, IMU, camera and computer) - drilling and sawing the metal rods so that we can secure the parts to the robot frame Software Setup - figuring out which drivers were needed - making sure all drivers are working as intended on the given hardware - writing the launch files and making it easier to connect to the robots remotely - creating URDF models for visualisation in ROS https://github.com/uos/ceres_robot
