Over the course of my professional career, I have adopted three mottos: “Everything is possible”, “Everything is relative” and “Go the extra mile and be excellent”. Regardless of where you are on this globe, listening and observing are crucial skills to an effective and lasting business turnaround/operational excellence goal. Only when the root cause is identified, you can make a lasting change for the better and help your team focus and support them to succeed. It is equally as important to know who you are and what you (want to) stand for as a company but also leader. Transformational leaders care, at all levels. They care about the business, the employees, and the customers. They think ahead and are not focused on the short term. Quality, integrity, and manners may seem old fashioned. But they provide kindness, pride, trust, productivity, and authenticity. I am grateful for every person I was able to work with over the decades and for my diverse team members with whom I can share my experience as much as they are teaching me new things. And I am looking forward to many more years where I can make a positive impact.
