Coeur Rochester Mine, located in Nevada, is one of the most significant heap leach operations in the U.S., specializing in silver and gold production. With a strong focus on safety, operational efficiency, and innovation, the mine optimizes each stage of the extraction process through strategic planning and advanced technologies. Its commitment to continuous improvement and team integration ensures sustainable and high-performance operations. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and 90-day mine plans to maximize production and meet KPI targets. • Maintain a continuously updated mine plan aligned with the medium-term strategy. • Optimize operations and reduce bottlenecks within the planning horizon. • Collaborate closely with teams across the site to ensure well-informed and executable plans.

Calculation of available stock in the mine (ORE, WASTE, MARGINALS, ROCK FOR CONSTRUCTION). Monthly accounting report of production from MINE - PLANT. Daily production/compliance reports for management. Preparation of daily/weekly mining and drilling plans. Preparation of daily/weekly mineral blending plans to improve processing performance (in collaboration with the Geometallurgy team). Preparation of weekly auxiliary work plans to better allocate available equipment, aiming to increase productivity.

Support - Short-Term Mine Planning

SME - UNMSM is a student organization whose mission is to support students in their professional development both practically and theoretically. It is comprised of students from the Mining Engineering program and related fields in the mining industry. In this organization, we prioritize academic activities such as research, innovation, and management, aimed at forming a leading group with interpersonal skills and continuous improvement of academic training through study groups, keynote lectures, courses, and workshops.

As a way of giving back to my alma mater, I supported the training of students in the Mining Engineering program at San Marcos by teaching the applications of basic drawing and design tools focused on the mining sector.

As an intern at the company, I had the opportunity to tour all the areas and learn the essentials of each one, including the following main areas: In the Operations Area: Calculating equipment performance. Calculating fleet requirements to reduce costs. Supervising compliance with drilling and blasting controls. Extensive knowledge in conventional, semi-mechanized, and mechanized work. In the Auxiliary Services Area: Controlling standards for hydraulic backfill operations. Managing material requirements for backfill preparation work. Controlling pumping systems. In the SSOMA (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) Area: Verifying compliance with work standards. Monitoring and controlling gases. Assisting in IPERC (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) - Proysin training. In the Ventilation Area: Preparing and installing a 150,000 CFM fan in the Rumpuy shaft. Identifying points of air recirculation. Calculating and controlling pressure drop at work fronts.
