2024-5 - 2026-1 · 1 yr 9 mos

Responsible for establishing and developing Solartricity’s UK presence, with a strong focus on commercial and industrial solar PV, battery storage and wider renewable energy opportunities. The role involved building relationships across the UK renewables sector, including EPCs, commercial installers, distributors and project-led partners. A key part of the position was identifying viable commercial opportunities, developing routes to market, supporting project discussions and positioning Solartricity as a credible supplier within the UK solar and storage market. My work was particularly focused on C&I project development, where site requirements, energy usage, system design, commercial viability and installer capability all had to be considered before progressing an opportunity. This included working with partners on solar PV and battery storage projects, understanding customer objectives, and supporting the commercial process from early-stage enquiry through to supplier engagement. The position required a blend of sales leadership, market development, technical understanding and commercial judgement, with a clear emphasis on building long-term value in the UK C&I renewables sector.

2023-5 - 2024-5 · 1 yr 1 mo

Scotland, United Kingdom

Country Manager for Scotland and the North of England, responsible for developing Roam’s B2B EV charging activity across the territory following significant investment into the business. The role focused on commercial destination charging, identifying suitable host locations and developing EV charging opportunities with businesses, landowners and destination-led sites. This included assessing site suitability, commercial viability, expected utilisation, customer dwell time, location quality, electrical capacity and the most appropriate ownership model for each opportunity. Roam offered both capex and opex-funded EV charging installations, including profit-share structures for selected destination sites. My role involved developing the regional pipeline, engaging commercial site owners, presenting the investment case, and progressing opportunities from initial site identification through to commercial discussion and project development. The position had a strong crossover with wider C&I energy infrastructure, particularly around site power capacity, electrical demand, grid limitations and the role of battery storage in supporting EV charging deployment. Where required, we worked with battery storage providers to explore site-level storage solutions that could support charging infrastructure, reduce grid dependency and improve the viability of commercial installations. This role strengthened my experience across B2B energy solutions, commercial site assessment, infrastructure-led sales, project development and the practical integration of EV charging, battery storage and distributed energy technologies.

RADIX

LinkedIn
2022-7 - 2023-4 · 10 mos

Dundee

Business Development Director, focused on developing opportunities for RADIX foundation systems across renewable energy infrastructure projects, with particular emphasis on battery energy storage systems, ground-mounted solar and large-scale commercial energy developments. The role involved engaging with developers, contractors, EPCs and renewable energy project stakeholders to position ground screw and screw pile foundations as a faster, lower-impact alternative to traditional concrete foundations. This was particularly relevant for BESS and solar farm projects, where programme speed, site access, ground conditions, maintenance access, ventilation, environmental impact and long-term operational practicality were key considerations. A significant part of the role was connected to large-scale battery storage deployment, where foundation design has a direct impact on project timelines, installation efficiency, site layout and ongoing access to battery units and associated equipment. Ground screw systems offered a practical solution for reducing groundwork lead times while supporting elevated structures, easier maintenance access and improved airflow around storage assets. The position provided strong exposure to the infrastructure side of the C&I and utility-scale energy sector, linking commercial development with the practical delivery requirements of battery storage, solar PV and wider distributed energy projects.

The role required full responsibility for the commercial direction and operational development of the business, including supplier relationships, commercial agreements, customer acquisition strategy, sales process design and overall B2B growth. A significant part of the position was focused on understanding the energy requirements of commercial customers and identifying appropriate solutions across procurement, on-site generation, renewable heat and associated infrastructure. This provided a strong foundation in the C&I energy sector, combining direct business development with practical exposure to commercial energy usage, supplier frameworks, project viability and renewable technology deployment.
