director of development for major gifts
cockrell school of engineering, the university of texas at austin
This development role with the Texas system's flagship institution in the Cockrell School of Engineering focuses on building and managing a major gift portfolio of 80-100 donors with the capacity to make philanthropic contributions in the range of six-figures and above strategically concentrating on Houston/East Texas, Southeast, Midwest, and East Coast markets. This position works closely alongside the school's frontline major gift officers, the university's central development office, the unit's Chief Development Officer and Dean, and other colleagues across the university to develop funding priorities to hit ambitious fundraising goals that have a substantial impact on the school and our students. I identify, explore, and cultivate relationships for potential funding opportunities for the school through private donations from individuals, alumni, parents, friends, and corporate partnerships supporting school-wide priorities for one of the most distinguished public engineering schools in the country and it's seven nationally top-ranked departments.

assistant director of annual giving programs
southern illinois university edwardsville
I was resolved to further my skill set and was responsible for multiple campaigns for the university's annual giving efforts in conjunction with the Director of Annual Giving Programs. These campaigns included managing all facets of the university's phonathon efforts, direct mail, integration of online giving and e-solicitations, and refining parent giving. To further enhance the program I initiated student philanthropy programming along with social media marketing, integration, and engagement for fundraising efforts, including implementing the university's first #GivingTuesday campaign. We also implemented strategies in stewardship and cultivation of annual donors and I was introduced to leadership annual giving programs and societies through a women's philanthropic group.

director of development - school of education, health and human behavior
southern illinois university edwardsville
My primary job responsibility is to be a liaison between the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior and our alumni, donors, emeriti faculty and friends. I look for potential funding opportunities for the school through large private donations from individuals/families, potential grants, and corporate partnerships. Working in the Dean's suite and in conjunction with the Dean of the school, along with department chairs/heads, we have facilitated several "firsts" for the school. These include securing the largest gift in the school's history along with facilitating several naming opportunities. We have also laid the groundwork for a pipeline of donors through establishing the first Dean's Society and strategically focused on specific groups for long-term planned/estate gifts.
