Simons Research Fellow
One of the 53 fellows selected out of 1380 applicants (<4% acceptance rate) in the department of chemistry. Planned an Army-funded research project focused on developing self-healing concrete through the incorporation of novel sodium silicate–encapsulated hollow hydrogels and carboxycellulose nanofibers (CNF). Designed the first-ever method for synthesizing oil based hollow hydrogel capsules tailored for concrete applications, creating a cost-effective, environmentally friendly solution that enhances both durability and repairability. Received a stipend upon program completion.

Juilliard Pre-College Student
As a double bass student in the Juilliard Pre-College program, I performed in three major concerts each year, playing a repertoire of approximately 16 works. I had the opportunity to collaborate with a Grammy-winning conductor and culminated my training with a full-length senior recital. My studies also included coursework in music theory and ear training.

Alzheimer's Volunteering
Long Island, NY
Supported patients with dementia and Alzheimer's on weekends, providing compassionate care and engagement. Initiated and organized a new event in celebration of World Alzheimer’s Day, featuring a therapeutic planting activity with decorated potted plants. Managed the event budget and purchasing, establishing a meaningful tradition intended to be continued annually.

WEFTEC Presenter

Presented my research at WEFTEC, North America’s largest annual water quality conference with over 20,000 attendees. Delivered a verbal presentation to 100+ international students and industry professionals, and connected with global delegations and experts through presenting at the WEFTEC Global Center.

Marine research
Conducted research on crab populations and biodiversity in the Long Island Sound under the mentorship of Professor Callie Scheetz. Findings revealed a significant decline in lobster populations, likely due to rising ocean temperatures and shell disease. Additionally, a high volume of bycatch was observed in both lobster and crab traps, with spider crabs emerging as the most prevalent species—surpassing blue and green crabs—potentially as a result of climate change-driven ecosystem shifts.
