30+ years' experience of building performance analysis, 26 years of which have been as an independent consultant. Quality and personal service are very important to my customers and the majority of my business is from existing clients and referrals. My skill base has expanded over the years and as well as building modelling, I supplement building investigations using thermography (I am a Level II certified thermographer so I can undertake BREEAM thermographic surveys), air tightness testing, environmental monitoring as well as supporting the construction and technology court as an expert witness where design modelling contributes to legal disputes. I also provide strategic quality assurance to organisations who wish to ensure that their computer modelling is undertaken with minimum risk and to the highest standards.

I was one of 7 post-graduates who undertook this course at Cranfield University. It was the first year the course was run and it was jam packed with so many fabulous subjects; thermodynamics, air conditioning systems (taught by the late Peter Jones, Haden Young), energy economics, energy simulation methods, lighting, building services, energy generation and life cycle costing. Professor Brian Norton (Dublin Institute of Technology) was one of our lecturers as was Professor Geoff Hammond (University of Bath) and what made this course extra special was their passion for their subject. A truly life-turning experience and I was lucky to be on this course with Alison Crompton (Regional Director at AECOM) and Denise Jauzens (BRE).
