Marathon Underground Constructors Corporation is a multi faceted construction contractor taking on varying rolls across four major industries - Micro Tunneling and trenchless directional drilling - Vertical drilling and geotechnical services - Deep foundation excavating and shoring & water and sewer works. The project Coordinator role covers various aspects from estimating and tendering on various projects to the coordination of projects from start to finish. Liaising between consultants, construction management team and contractors, and assisting the project management team with overall project performance including cost control, schedule performance, quality control, reporting, and project completion-handover.

McGinn Concrete leads with a passionate approach to exceed customer expectations which has given them the reputation that they have throughout Queensland, working on a vast array of projects from multi million dollar commercial projects to residential driveways and pool surrounds. Estimating small to medium sized concrete and polishing projects from $5k-$2m. From the initial client contact discussing scope of the project to the takeoff and project administration phases. • Reading architectural and engineered drawings. • Preparing bill of quantities. • Ordering materials through suppliers and confirm subcontracts. • Negotiating and invoicing for project variations. • Communicate and work with the client throughout the project.

Through the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Civil Engineering students gain knowledge and skills in the planning, design, management, construction and maintenance of civil engineering projects. They will also learn about current industry practices and develop a strong foundation in basic science, engineering principles, practice and management. Students benefit from strong industry input by guest lecturers and student participation in real engineering projects.

This three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program is a continuation of the Construction Engineering Technician program and allows graduates to pursue a wider variety of careers related to civil construction. Students focus on more advanced topics including project administration, civil estimating, design of steel structures, and highway and environmental engineering. In addition, students broaden their skills in other civil engineering sub-disciplines, such as statics, structural analysis, hydraulics, GIS, water and waste water technology and geotechnical materials. OACETT conditionally recognizes this program as meeting all of the academic requirements for certification in the Certified Engineering Technologist (CET).

This two-year Ontario College Diploma program is a comprehensive introduction to a variety of aspects of the construction industry. It is a blend of theory and practice comprising of courses, such as surveying, construction materials, estimating, and construction documentation and positions graduates to pursue careers in residential or commercial construction. Graduates will be prepared for employment in many areas of the construction industry, including cost estimating of residential, commercial, and civil projects, surveying, project management, building inspection, materials testing and quality control and construction inspection.
