Bradford Brown

Brad Brown is an independent consultant and is active in professional and community organizations. His military service spanned 30 years. Army operations experience included two combat tours in Vietnam as an Infantry Platoon Leader, Mortar Battery Commander and Aviation Company Commander. Other operational command assignments included command of an Air Calvary Troop and an Attack Helicopter Battalion. He is honored to be in the Infantry Officer Candidate Hall of Fame. Brad has held key Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition positions as project and program manager of national security programs. At Headquarters, Department of the Army, he was a Department of the Army Systems Coordinator and Director for Maneuver Systems. In DoD, he was a Special Assistant to the Director, Strategic Defense Initiative Organization (SDIO). His final military assignment was as the Army Joint Program Manager and a Deputy Program Executive Officer for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)s in the US Navy Program Executive Office for Cruise Missiles and UAVs. He has over 10 year’s industry experience. As a Program Manager and Director at TASC, Incorporated, he led a $50 million support contract in DoD. He was the past President & CEO of Pioneer UAV, Incorporated, which was a joint venture between AAI Corporation of Hunt Valley, Maryland and Israel Aircraft Industries of Lod, Israel. His team led and managed the development, production and support of the Pioneer UAV System.. He planned and presided over the induction of the Pioneer UAV into the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in recognition of the surrender of Iraqi soldiers to the Pioneer. (The first time humans surrendered to a robot.) Brad has been active in professional and community organizations. He was a past president of the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and the AUVSI Foundation; past Treasurer of the Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association; and various service groups.
