Biliana Coleman

Hi and thank you for visiting Bilimama Photography!!! As I hope is evident in my photos, I love emotionally driven portraiture. If you love images that come to life in your heart, I'm your girl. I also have a soft spot for soft, grainy, film-like images…hence I shoot and edit my photos with that in mind. Even though I have a graduate degree in Health Research the 20 years I’ve invested into teaching myself photography are what I’m really proud of. As a photographer, I feel it’s important to continuously invest in growing and expanding my abilities and I do this by investing in the workshops and mentorship programs of my favorite photographers so I can learn from their expertise. My father first spiked my interest in photography as a child, he was the photographer in his Army unit. But it wasn’t until one spring vacation trip in college to beautiful Malta that not having a proper camera forced me to invest in a semi-professional 35mm SLR and start practicing daily. I had no money, but I had a credit card...now I don’t recommend spending money you don’t have, but sometimes it’s just what the universe ordered. I learned to work with film and developed it in my own darkroom which was pretty awesome. After much resisting, I finally dove into the digital photography world which I now truly enjoy. I’m a full-time mom of two beautiful souls that teach me so much about life every second of every day. They are the light of my life and I prioritize spending time with them over anything else in the world. I love that they have seen me grow as a mom and a business person. I love that I get to model for them what it takes to maintain a healthy life/work/mom balance that is not always so easy to accomplish… We love animals and adopt whenever we can. My house is currently buzzing with all kinds of animals that surprisingly get along great together. My personal philosophy is that this planet belongs to all who live in it, and not just humans. Besides, it’s so much more fun to coexist and care for each other. So sometimes I’ll post a few animal images/videos on social media to share our animal experiences with you :) I really hope that we meet soon and make great memories together! Biliana :)
