Growing up in a business family in Kolkata, India, I witnessed firsthand the values of hard work, integrity, and trust. These lessons continue to guide me every day as I work to build meaningful connections and strive for excellence. After graduating a semester early from the University of Michigan in 2008, I entered the workforce during the global financial crisis. Despite the challenges, I secured an Analyst position at GMAC (now Ally Financial), which taught me adaptability and perseverance in navigating uncertainty. I later joined Mahindra Partners, the Private Equity arm of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., where I gained invaluable experience scaling businesses and fostering innovation within corporate frameworks. These formative years in diverse corporate environments gave me a unique perspective on growth and leadership. In 2010, I returned to my roots and joined Bharat Kumar & Co. Pvt. Ltd., a family-run business with a legacy dating back to 1944. Over the next decade, we transformed from a regional trading firm into a global paper and packaging powerhouse, exporting to 36 countries and counting. Along the way, we introduced several industry firsts: -Eastern India’s First Sheeting Facility (2016) -Value-Added Solutions: Recognizing that customers needed more than standard products, we launched a full-fledged conversion facility offering services like PE extrusion, slitting, and rewinding, delivering tailor-made solutions to meet diverse needs. While I’m passionate about advancing India’s reputation in the global paper industry, my journey isn’t just about achieving numbers or milestones—it’s about relationships, growth, and balance. Whether it’s my weekly GIL (Growth is Life) group sessions, learning from peers, or balancing time between work, travel, and my three wonderful children, I believe in holistic growth. Here’s what defines me: → Over the last five years, we’ve serviced 1,834 customers in 35 countries, with 71% of them returning year after year. →Our exports span continents, with a focus on making India a trusted alternative to global giants. I’m driven by the belief that success stems from consistent effort, innovation, and integrity.
