In the healthcare sector I specialize in medical procurement and order fulfillment for Government contracts; ensuring essential medical supplies & equipment reach clinics, nurses and patients effectively. Inventory optimization by navigating supply chains and sourcing clinical equivalents during shortages, while managing inventory through our ERP system and physically overseeing over a thousand SKUs. Also supporting ongoing WMS implemention projects for our various locations.My role has continued to expand which also involves vendor management with a strong focus on finance and accounts reconciliation as well as assisting accounting with the closing of monthly and quarterly books. What this looks like: I investigate internal discrepancies and external disputes using a root cause analysis approach; referencing purchase orders, invoices, cash applications and deep diving into our ERP system and utilizating Excel for data analysis and preparing reports for meaningful action plans.I also collaborate with operation teams across the board to identify gaps and provide support from end to end; beginning with RFx, sourcing, purchasing, receiving and invoicing. Replenishing inventory accross our multiple sites through data driven transfer orders. Also importantly, initiating urgent and voluntary recall processes promptly when quality or safety are flagged by manufacturers & distributors.My Academic background: a graduate from Ontario Tech University and Centennial College in Criminology and Justice, with competencies in case studies, qualitative and quantitative research. Practical experience and application of root cause analysis complements a prevention-focused approach, backed up with strong written and verbal communication. I also have been given the privilege to connect with diverse individuals and communities through co-op placements working with Youth at-risk, family & school programs which really slow things down for you and help you see the world through people-focused values first and foremost.
