Anshul Naini
SDE Intern @ Amazon
About
I’m a Computer Engineering student at the Georgia Institute of Technology focused on building efficient systems that operate close to the hardware while scaling to real-world software applications. My experience spans embedded systems, distributed platforms, and full-stack development — from developing firmware for a distributed network to building scalable backend services and real-time data systems. I enjoy working across layers of the stack, understanding how software interacts with hardware, networking, and infrastructure to create reliable and efficient systems.

Experience

Firmware Engineering Intern
Atlanta, GA
- Developed firmware for BLE mesh networked lighting systems to utilize RSSI disturbance to determine space occupancy - Designed a distributed network of Raspberry Pis using Flask to monitor performance of networked lighting systems - Implemented asynchronous producer–consumer pipelines (Python queues + worker threads) to decouple data ingestion from I/O-bound camera operations - Built rate-limiting and deduplication logic to suppress redundant events and reduce unnecessary load - Conducted stress testing under simulated traffic and optimized backend pipelines reducing end-to-end latency (doubled system throughput) - Presented design at company tech fair for potential use by other product development teams

Product Security Intern
Worked on a full-stack web application using Node.js, React, and Docker to automate security and compliance scanning of cloud infrastructure, IaC, and source code - Integrated AI to analyze scan results and map vulnerabilities to compliance frameworks like FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and SOC 2 - Developed and debugged a scalable microservices architecture with Redis queues, worker threads, and child processes to handle concurrent scans - Engineered a secure credential management system with encryption, RBAC enforcement, and service-to-service JWT authentication - Contributed to a robust RBAC model supporting profile-based permission switching, team hierarchies, and context-aware authorization - Used Postman for end-to-end testing and resolved issues in AI-generated code, including broken endpoints and invalid logic - Gained hands-on experience with Prisma ORM, and distributed queue systems (Bull.js) - Learned how to properly utilize AI (Claude Code) to assist with coding to significantly speed up work and improve efficiency

Student Researcher
Working in research team through GTRI developing a LiDAR platform for autonomous cars. Currently I am part of the electronics subteam - Worked on migrating mainboard design to newer version to allow for more robustness, communication speed, and port access

Robotics Development Intern
Peachtree Corners, GA
Developed software for humanoid robots -Facial recognition and tracking algorithm using OpenCV and PID controller - Object recognition and 3D coordinates retriever algorithm using YOLO (Machine Learning model) and Intel Realview camera (allows robot to know where objects are in real time) - AI generated responses using OpenAI API and detection of key words in conversations - Worked on dynamics of humanoid robotics, optimizing natural movements emulating human mobility - Duties include research, motion planning, programming, testing, evaluation, data gathering, and documentation

Captain and CTO | FIRST Team 4112
Cumming, Georgia, United States
-President and CTO of FIRST Robotics Team 4112, the Eaglebots, at South Forsyth High School. -Led team of 55 students in in the designing, manufacturing, and programming of industrial sized robots (120+ lbs) -Oversaw finance and a lot of outreach to local schools. - Worlds first time in 7 years under my leadership and more awards than all other seasons combined - Focused on technical aspects of robot including CAD, CNC manufacturing, programming, and electrical -Most organized team has ever been due to my work management documentation and leadership structure

Head Robotics Instructor
Cumming, Georgia, United States
-Led a team of 8 instructors in delivering STEM/robotics education to elementary and middle school students -Developed curriculums, instruct courses, and coach competitive VEX IQ robotics teams -Courses consist of mechanical design, basic physics principles, hardware programming, and game strategy -Teams taught are some of the best in the state and many have competed and won at the world competition level
