Joining this company has given me a great opportunity to work at some of London's more interesting and diverse venues such as the Royal palaces and The East Winter Gardens. I've had the pleasure to be part of a number of different types of events ranging from weddings to simpler, but by no means less valuable, conferences . This in turn has made every shift interesting and educational in a different way.

I was given an amazing opportunity to take part in the summer Olympics in London and experience the organizing of one of the biggest events in England. This was directly beneficial to my experience in the event industry and taught me how a large scale event is broken down into venues and sections to make it run smoothly and taught me how to improvise when I am faced with unexpected problems. Overall it was a once in a lifetime experience that I am happy to have been part of.

This position taught me how a large sized venue is run and managed. I also had the chance to jump between different roles when needed and further improve my management and people skills jumping between the different tasks around the club, some of which included dealing with lost property, the cloakroom and accident reports. This also gave me a chance to utilize some of the skills I acquired during my events management training in Australia concerning alcohol and food licensing, marketing and booking as well as venue management as a whole.

I learned to jump comfortably between different duties at the hotel and learned to adapt to a five star service environment. This furthered my knowledge of venue management.

Developed customer skills in a different environment and learned all the skills necessary to run a bar, such as stock take and ordering as well as opening, set up and close.

I developed the necessary skills to prepare and organise a student fair, set up the space and equipment. I also learned to liaise with the hotel staff and participants hosting the fair and to anticipate needs.

Learned excellent communication skills thorough informing potential students about studies abroad and how GOStudy helps them with the application process, having myself studied in Australia with the company’s help.

I got the opportunity to learn how a salon is managed including how to do inventory, ordering and selling of products. I was also involved in designing and photographing the advertisement and PR material for the brand. I developed great customer communication skills thorough doing consultations regarding hair for weddings and fashion photography.
