Provision of guidance and leadership to the local UK Engineering Team (often supporting a global cross-functional Integrated Project Team) to support the Smiths Connectors NPD (New Product Development) process Liaison with VP of Global Engineering to ensure that engineering resources are allocated appropriately to support approved NPD projects and other R&D / Technology Development activities. Ensure that the local Engineering team is fully aware of all important project requirements, expected deliverables and timescales. Ensure that all project issues / road-blocks / significant risks are identified and either addressed or escalated appropriately to the Senior Leadership Team. Communication and liaison with other local and global business functions to ensure that all local activities are aligned with and supporting Smiths Connectors company policy, strategic plans and objectives / KPIs. Provision of monthly reports to the Smiths Connectors Senior Leadership Team including progress updates upon key NPD Projects and other significant local activities / news, general utilisation of local engineering resources and other KPIs. Effective setting of personal objectives and development (SMART) goals for the local UK Engineering Team.

NPD product design development of custom Connector designs for transmission of High Speed Digital Data and RF signals. NPD product design development of custom Connector designs for suppression of conducted EMC interference and transient Electro-Magnetic surges. Research and development into new technology / engineering development techniques to support current and future product development.

Responsible for the design and manufacture of passive EMC filtering components and assemblies. Oxley manufacture ceramic capacitors in-house including thick film tubular capacitors, multi-layer chip capacitors and planar capacitor arrays. Filter ranges included discrete feedthrough filters, filter arrays and connectors. Oxley incorprate transient voltage suppression (TVS) into their filter products.
