I founded Oinride out of a conviction that the world's most dangerous environments such as nuclear waste sites, underground mines, active battlefields, shouldn't require humans to put their lives on the line. That conviction, and a lot of late nights in a Finnish garage, turned into AutoJoe®: a mobile robot built for the harshest terrain on earth. Six months after starting, Oinride had secured over €500K in investment, forged 14+ partnerships with domestic and international players, and was actively deploying into industries notorious for their resistance to new entrants and their painfully long sales cycles. Mining and defense don't give startups the benefit of the doubt; you earn every conversation, every pilot, every signature. What got us there wasn't luck. It was disciplined cashflow management, relentless pipeline work, and building something that genuinely solves a problem no one else is solving at this level. I lead everything that matters at an early-stage hardware startup; product architecture, fundraising, commercial strategy, strategic partnerships, and team leadership. With the next generation of AI and Robots invading every part of our life, the need to to strategize appropriately and make the best use/balance of robotics and humans is already here. My role is to focus on finding the right opportunities for utilizing automation and robotics for customers in the mining and rough terrain applications. Our flag-ship 6WD robot AutoJoe and state of the art autonomous 4tD handheld controller is the basic tools we use to solve customer Automation challenges. 4 the drivers Oy focuses on customers needs and can propose the right autonomous system that will deliver the right ROI for your organization. In my current role with Sandvik, I have been traveling the globe, leading automation implementation for mining customers internationally. This is part of the digitization efforts committed by mining industry globally. I have been to many different mines around the globe with a successful effort to modernize its infrastructures and hence improve safety and production The fun part of my job is working with functional teams such as HW and SW testing to help delve deeper into our Automine product family. This has given me the chance to fully absorb the anatomy of our systems down to the bits and bytes level. The mission critical safety system working with the automated system to drive a 50 ton machine is not an easy task. I have also been a technical lead for our Loading & Hauling Navigation system (InfraFREE & Automine SW). This includes updating road maps for product features, planning software releases and gathering customers requirements and feedback. In my free time, I have been working with a project to miniaturize autonomous Loader down to a scale model. This would help in improve and streamline testing, learning and marketing of mining automation. This little toy of a fully 3D printed and fully robotic Miniature loader is geared for engineers looking to rigorously test and simulate physical machine in the field and avoid excessive and expensive time with physical machine. The miniature loader is designed and 3D printed from scratch by professional Finnish designers. It has been nominated for the 2018 innovation contest. Pretty exciting to get that running autonomously using the latest ROS 2.0 on Ubuntu. A great tool for testing, training and marketing right from your desk!

As a part of the Integrated Functional Testing (IFT) group, I was responsible for automated testing of Rockwell PowerFlex Drives. Developing software interfaces for motor drives so test scripts can exercise various test sequences to collect data and generate reports. My job included: Reduced test time needed by 25% for PowerFlex test procedures by creating and optimizing the test bed. Significantly increased the accuracy of the test results by enforcing automating checks ∙ Improved the test bed connectivity and conduct Automatic Drive Configuration. Created and implemented Test Plans and Test Procedures for multiple product lines. Executed full or partial Driver regression testing for each RSlogix 5000 Release Report Anomalies and update project related activities to the Project management.

As part of the semiconductor & medical team stationed in the west coast, I performed project management, procurement, generation of BOMs in SAP, control motion assemblies for major clients in the Silicon Valley. My four year with Bosch included: Support external customers, sales, marketing, in the technical aspects of the controls and drives products of Bosch Rexroth. Improved the support and utilization for the motion drives, HMI&SCADA hardware and software nationwide. Examples such as continually writing application notes and software examples. Reduced testing time by 50% for the motion assemblies’ production by creating automated C++ and logging results for quality assurance. Coach Fresh graduate Engineers on Bosch Control & Drives technology and ensure the proper knowledge transfer for smooth integration with the team. Constructed demos and presentations to exhibit several product lines. Created demos for the SEMICON west annual show 2010. Served as the main contact nationwide for SERCOS, the real-time, motion capable protocol, and its various applications. Act as a liaison person to our offices in Europe, Chicago and California.

Senior level technical support Engineer, I worked in a team driven environment to provide front line technical support for the SCADA/HMI customers: Provide global customers with acute domain knowledge that aids them in developing, maintaining, or enhancing new and existing projects. Customers included NASA, Bosch, Halliburton, and BMW. Continually improving ticket quality, troubleshooting, and routing has increased overall organization’s efficiency. Introduce a unique security feature by integrating biometrics libraries to the software for strengthening users’ authentication. Also, work closely with developers to strengthen the licensing system. Develop visual basic, and C++ programs to automate hardware testing. Technical Sales in conjunction with Account Executives to secure sales. Creation of Technical Whitepapers on a variety of technical topics related to Indusoft Software. Technical Training, lead training courses at Indusoft headquarters or at the customer-sites, providing in-depth, instructor-led, hands-on training of all Indusoft software offerings.
