- Led medicinal chemistry efforts for 3 programs each producing a development candidate. - Program 1 is currently enrolling for Ph1 (NCT07255846) and Program 2 IND drafting is underway. - Program 3 DC (backup for TER-2013) is parked pending data from ongoing NCT07109726. - Engaged in highly collaborative research with biologists, DMPK scientists, in vivo pharmacologists, patent lawyers and other chemists (medicinal, process and computational). - Managed up to 50 external FTEs simultaneously across 2 programs including target design, synthesis troubleshooting, data collection/analysis and high level med chem strategy. - Collected and analyzed ADME / PK data to identify leads and prepare full profiles for regulatory documents including human dose predictions by allometry and IVIVC. - Communicated key findings, data interpretation and strategic considerations to diverse audiences including senior leadership, scientific advisory board and investors. - Oversaw the filing of 15 patents across 3 programs. - Drafted claims and Markush trees, prepared experimental data, filed updates and monitored competitive landscape - all collaboratively with patent lawyers. - Initiated on-site chemistry lab operations including the startup and management of equipment, chemical inventory, consumables, and EHS/waste programs. Coordinated moving the lab to a new site.

- Rationally designed and synthesized compounds with optimized ADME properties via multi step syntheses by analyzing and interpreting large data sets and collaborating with structural/computational chemists (late stage lead optimization, virology and oncology). - Adopted challenging targets and designed a synthetic route to a new class of fused bicyclic derivatives by applying modern synthetic organic techniques. - Led chemistry efforts for the scale up of a development candidate (responsible for 2 FTEs)

- Presented lectures in organic chemistry to ~100 students (specialist program, 2nd year). - Answered questions and provided academic advice.

Led tutorials and demonstrated/supervised laboratory experiments for undergraduate chemistry students at various levels and sub-disciplines.

- Served as an expert reference by performing patent procedures. - Prepared results for patent lawyers.

- Contributed to the expansion of a target library by synthesizing several key intermediates (including synthesis planning and product isolation/characterization). - Presented results and provided insight at team meetings.

Tutored undergraduates in Chemistry (Physical, Organic) and Philosophy (Logic).

- Provided proof of concept for the group’s organoboron methodology by synthesizing a small library of amphoteric derivatives (Yudin Group). - Commercialized the reagents through Sigma Aldrich by scaling up the syntheses (1 kg). - Contributed to the publication by interpreting and reporting characterization data.

- Expanded the scope of Rh-catalyzed cross-coupling methodology (Lautens Group). - Contributed to the publication by interpreting and reporting characterization data.

- Supervised an undergraduate residence building during off-hours. - Addressed resident concerns including lockouts, guest check-in, and safety issues.

- Managed patient flow and scheduling within the clinic. - Solved IT issues by troubleshooting network and database problems. - Migrated patient data records from physical to digital records while maintaining confidentiality.

- Developed and patented a novel class of boryl isocyanides. - Discovered a new class of reversible covalent serine protease inhibitors. - Proved their biological activity and clinical relevance in the treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia by initiating collaborations with Princess Margaret Hospital (Toronto) and Scripps (California). - Thesis title: MIDA Borylated Isocyanides enable Efficient Access to Bioactive Boropeptides and other Derivatives. - Was awarded funding through the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship program (top 50 Canadian graduate students in the natural sciences and engineering). - Withdrew early from the PhD program due to biking injury (fully recovered; see above).
