At SoftwareMill I'm responsible for building and growing the core of the company: our technical team. By embracing individuality of every engineer, we aim to build a collective technical mindset. Following traditional engineering values, our goal is on one hand to inspire the community, and on the other to proactively transform the businesses of our Clients with technology. I participate in various projects, either as a project lead, tech lead or software engineer. I specialise in backend systems, developing high-performance, clustered, fault-tolerant software. As a member of the SoftwareMill team, I take care of delivering projects end-to-end, making sure the clients receive useful, working software on time. On the technical side, I most often use JVM-based technologies, currently mainly from the Scala stack (Akka, Cats, Monix, ZIO), combined with various databases and messaging systems (depending on specific needs), such as Kafka, Cassandra, MongoDB, Elastic Search, DynamoDB, SQS, MySQL, PostgreSQL and others. I'm the founder and main developer of open-source projects: sttp client & tapir (Scala HTTP client & API descriptions), MacWire (Scala DI library), ElasticMQ (stand-alone SQS implementation), Hibernate Envers (an entity auditing/versioning framework), Quicklens and others. I also work on Internet-of-Things related themes, such as iBeacons. I was a speaker at major Scala and Java conferences: Scala Days, LambdaDays, LambdaConf, Scalar, JavaOne, Devoxx, Javazone, JFokus, Jazoon, Javarsovia and various JUG/Scala meetups, including New York, Boston and SF-Scala Meetups.
